What is Hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy is a very powerful and flexible therapy used to address a wide range of matters. The body runs and habits are formed at an unconscious level and the unconscious remembers all that we have forgotten. Hypnotherapy allows safe access to the hidden parts of a person and promotes change and healing from within. Hypnotherapy is a powerful catalyst and its skilled application helps resolve problems, and improve quality of life in many ways.
Hypnotherapy can be applied to many psychological, emotional and physical disorders. It can be used to relieve pain in surgery and dentistry. It can ease the discomfort of the disabled and it has been shown to help people to overcome addictions such as smoking and to help with eating problems.
Phobias of all kinds lend themselves well to hypnotherapy,
and anyone experiencing panic attacks or obsessive behaviour
and stress-related problems. Conditions exacerbated by tension,
such as irritable bowel problems, skin disorders, blushing, and
excessive sweating all respond well to Hypnotherapy.

All Hypnosis is self hypnosis
This means you, the client, allow yourself to enter a deep state of
relaxation and allow the voice of the hypnotherapist to guide you into
a deep hypnotic trance.
There are two main types of Hypnotherapy, Clinical Hypnotherapy (also known as ‘Suggestion Therapy’) and Analytical therapy.
Clinical Hypnotherapy reinforces the will and desire of the person under hypnosis, allowing them to better control certain aspects of their life. This therapy lends itself especially well to increasing self-esteem and confidence smoking cessation, and other changes in habit.
Analytical Hypnotherapy can help with physical pain. It is also used to gently discover the root cause of mental distress, that may give rise to anxiety, phobias and unwanted habits or feelings, allowing the client to understand and apply remedy at the root cause of their problem. The hypnotherapist guides the client using regression techniques. Very often the client finds the root of the problem to be in early childhood or before. Under hypnosis there are many techniques to enable the natural beneficial change that occurs when the conscious mind is able to interact with the unconscious mind.
Julie uses both Clinical and Analytical Hypnotherapy, with Psychotherapy and Gold Counselling.
Every session is bespoke and often styles and techniques are combined for maximum effect.
Regression Therapy and Therapeutic Past Life Regression
Regression Therapy is the main vehicle of Analytical Hypnotherapy.
It enables the mind to return to where is most appropriate for it to go to help solve a problem or explain “Why” – it knows where to go.
Examples where hypnotherapy can be of benefit include:
This list is not exhaustive, and should you require help with a problem not listed here, please do not hesitate to contact us to see if hypnotherapy can help.
Basic Misconceptions
There are six basic misconceptions about hypnosis:
therapist, the client would either awaken spontaneously or just drift off into a natural sleep and awaken from that a short time later.
Your first Hypnotherapy session includes an initial consultation and can last up to two hours.
Past Life Regression
Many people believe they have lived before and it is possible to enable the mind to return to times gone by to enable them resolve problems or issues that that may have brought with them to this life.
Some people may spontaneously regress to a past life such as the young man who came to Julie for help with his flying phobia and found himself in a WWII bomber.
